Revelation of the Quran

 

1.       The Arch-angel Gabriel revealed to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)  a verse from the Quran.

2.       The event took place in a cave called Hira, located on the mountain called Jabal an-Nour, near Mecca.

3.       The first five verses revealed are from Surat Al-`Alaq, Chapter 96.

4.       The first revelation experience of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is mentioned in the Quran 53:4-9.

 

Chapter 53, Verse: 4-9

 

 إِنۡ هُوَ إِلَّا وَحۡىٌ۬ يُوحَىٰ (٤) عَلَّمَهُ ۥ شَدِيدُ ٱلۡقُوَىٰ (٥) ذُو مِرَّةٍ۬ فَٱسۡتَوَىٰ (٦) وَهُوَ بِٱلۡأُفُقِ ٱلۡأَعۡلَىٰ (٧) ثُمَّ دَنَا فَتَدَلَّىٰ (٨) فَكَانَ قَابَ قَوۡسَيۡنِ أَوۡ أَدۡنَىٰ (٩)

 

 Which one of mighty powers hath taught him, (5) One vigorous; and he grew clear to view (6) When he was on the uppermost horizon. (7) Then he drew nigh and came down (8) Till he was (distant) two bows' length or even nearer, (9)

 

 یہ تو وحی ہے جو اس پر آتی ہے (۴) بڑے طاقتور (جبرائیل) نے اسے سکھایا ہے (۵) جو بڑا زور آور ہے پس وہ قائم ہوا (اصلی صورت میں) (۶) اور وہ (آسمان کے) اونچے کنارے پر تھا (۷) پھر نزدیک ہوا پھر اور بھی قریب ہوا (۸) پھر فاصلہ دو کمان کے برابر تھا یا اس سے بھی کم (۹)

Belief in the life of hereafter

One of the basic principle and fundamental of Islam Faith is Belief in the life of hereafter.

Hereafter also called as Akhirat and life after death.

سُوۡرَةُ سَبَإ
بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

وَقَالَ الَّذِيۡنَ كَفَرُوۡا لَا تَاۡتِيۡنَا السَّاعَةُ ؕ قُلۡ بَلٰى وَرَبِّىۡ لَـتَاۡتِيَنَّكُمۡۙ عٰلِمِ الۡغَيۡبِ ۚ لَا يَعۡزُبُ عَنۡهُ مِثۡقَالُ ذَرَّةٍ فِى السَّمٰوٰتِ وَلَا فِى الۡاَرۡضِ وَلَاۤ اَصۡغَرُ مِنۡ ذٰ لِكَ وَلَاۤ اَكۡبَرُ اِلَّا فِىۡ كِتٰبٍ مُّبِيۡنٍۙ‏﴿۳﴾  لِّيَجۡزِىَ الَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوۡا الصّٰلِحٰتِؕ اُولٰٓٮِٕكَ لَهُمۡ مَّغۡفِرَةٌ وَّرِزۡقٌ كَرِيۡمٌ ‏﴿۴﴾  وَالَّذِيۡنَ سَعَوۡ فِىۡۤ اٰيٰتِنَا مُعٰجِزِيۡنَ اُولٰٓٮِٕكَ لَهُمۡ عَذَابٌ مِّنۡ رِّجۡزٍ اَلِيۡمٌ ‏﴿۵

 

Translation in English

In the name of Allah Most Gracious Most Merciful.

Those who disbelieve say: The Hour will never come unto us. Say: Nay, by my Lord, but it is coming unto you surely. (He is) the Knower of the Unseen. Not an atom's weight, or less than that or greater, escapeth Him in the heavens or in the earth, but it is in a clear Record, (3) That He may reward those who believe and do good works. For them is pardon and a rich provision. (4) But those who strive against Our revelations, challenging (Us), theirs will be a painful doom of wrath. (5) Surah Saba (chapter: 34, Verse: 3-5)

 

Translation in Urdu: 

اور کافر کہتے ہیں کہ ہم پر قیامت نہیں آئے گی کہہ دو ہاں (آئے گی) قسم ہے میرے رب غائب کے جاننے والے کی البتہ تم پر ضرور آئے گی جس سے آسمانوں اور زمین کی کوئی چیز ذرّہ کے برابر بھی غائب نہیں اور نہ ذرّہ سے چھوٹی اور نہ بڑی کوئی بھی ایسی چیز نہیں جو لوح محفوظ میں نہ ہو (۳) تاکہ الله ان لوگوں کو جزا دے جو ایمان لائے اور انہوں نے نیک عمل کیے انہیں کے لیے بخشش اور عزت والا رزق ہے (۴) اور جو ہماری آیتوں کے رد کرنے میں کوشش کرتے پھرتے ہیں ان کے لیے ذلت کا عذاب ہے (۵)

Semitic religions are Islam, Christianity and Judaism.


What is Semitic refers to 

 

• According to the Bible, Prophet Noah (pbuh) had a son called Shem.
• The descendents of Shem are known as Semites.
• Semitic religions are religions that originated among the Semites.
